We do not recommend replacing a professional chimney sweep with a chimney sweep log. These logs cannot clean your chimney as effectively as a professional chimney sweep. While they can help loosen creosote in the flue, they do not provide a complete cleaning.

The duration of air duct cleaning varies depending on your home. Typically, the process takes between two and four hours. However, larger homes or those with pets might require more time. Additionally, the length of the service can be influenced by when your last air duct cleaning was performed. If it’s been a while since your ducts were cleaned, the process may take longer.

Your dryer vent should be made of metal to prevent fire hazards. Plastic vents are extremely dangerous and must be replaced immediately. Secure all connections with metal tape or fasteners.

While most ductwork simply requires cleaning, there are instances where replacement is necessary. Common indicators of ductwork that needs replacing include:

• Age: Ductwork older than 10 years is likely to have deteriorated seals, seams, and connections.
• Performance issues: Decreased airflow, uneven temperatures, or excessive noise could signal problems.
• Visible damage: Dents, holes, or mold growth within the ductwork require immediate attention.
• Improper installation: If your ductwork was initially installed incorrectly, it may be causing problems.
